Rodgers quoting 'Shawshank' among tributes as Packers, fans bid farewell to Matthews, Cobb

Tuesday was an emotional day for the Green Bay Packers, with news breaking that both Randall Cobb (Dallas Cowboys) and Clay Matthews (Los Angeles Rams) had agreed to deals with other NFC teams.

Matthews had been with Green Bay since 2009 and is the franchise's all-time leader in sacks (83.5). Cobb, drafted in 2011, has been a key figure in some of the most dramatic moments in recent Packers history, including a memorable catch at the end of the 2013 season that improbably put Green Bay into the playoffs.

Cobb and Matthews both announced their moves with memorable tweets.

There were a number of heartfelt social media reactions to their departures, including some from Packers teammates. Aaron Rodgers quoted the iconic movie "The Shawshank Redemption" in saying goodbye to Cobb:
