Patriots' Tom Brady calls Packers QB Aaron Rodgers' feats 'inspiring'

Two of the National Football League's greatest quarterbacks -- if not the two greatest -- will square off for just the second time Sunday when the Green Bay Packers visit the New England Patriots on "Sunday Night Football."

 Tom Brady, in his regular weekly interview with Kirk and Callahan on WEEI in Boston, spoke about his pending battle with his Packers counterpart, Aaron Rodgers.

The two have met on the field just once, a 26-21 Packers win in 2014 at Lambeau Field. The last time Green Bay played at Foxborough, in 2010, Rodgers missed the game with injury.

"I know Aaron pretty well," Brady said. "We've been friends for a long time. I've always known about him; he went to Cal, grew up in the Bay Area. ... What he's done as a quarterback, I think it's inspiring. Even for me, I watch his game, and it makes me want to get out there and practice and improve, because I think he's so phenomenal with how he manages himself in the pocket. His ability to throw the football is unlike anyone in probably the history of the league. It's pretty awesome to watch."

Brady laughed when asked whom he thought was the best quarterback ever. 

"I think it's actually a hypothetical question that is just truly impossible to answer. It's great to debate it and those types of things. I don't think about, 'Oh, was this guy better than this guy or this guy?' I guess that's just because I'm an athlete and I realize it's a lot of teamwork and there's a lot of factors that go into helping your team win. It's hard to compare positions and eras; I think it's impossible to answer. But I think Aaron is one of the best to play the game. He's got every skill to be a great quarterback."

The Patriots head into the battle at 6-2 after winning a fifth straight game Monday night against Buffalo. The Packers sit at 3-3-1.
