GREEN BAY - Aaron Rodgers continued down his recovery road Wednesday, practicing in a midweek session for the first time since breaking his right collarbone in mid-October.

Rodgers returned to practice Saturday in the Green Bay Packers' walkthrough before playing the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after receiving the team’s final return designation from injured reserve. He isn’t medically cleared to practice in full, but will get more drill work this week.

Only a few practice periods were open to the media, but it was enough to see Rodgers throw against air to his receivers. He showed good zip on his passes, especially on out routes to the sideline, matching reports teammates previously shared. Rodgers' most impressive pass during the open session was a high-arching ball he unleashed about 55 yards, dropping it on a dime to receiver Trevor Davis down the left sideline.

“He’s Aaron Rodgers,” quarterback Brett Hundley said. “He throws the ball unlike any I’ve ever seen. Still slinging it.”

Rodgers also appeared to be in good spirits. At times, he cut up with teammates, even giving Jamaal Williams a low five after the rookie running back hit Rodgers with an over-the-shoulder throw.

When he wasn’t throwing, Rodgers ran routes and even played a little bit of cornerback.

“We take shots on him sometimes, you know what I’m saying?” Hundley quipped. “He tries to get out there and play defense a little bit. His feet at corner, a little slow. So we take shots on him every once in a while.”
