David Johnson skipping Cardinals' mandatory minicamp, per report

As David Johnson makes his push for a comeback, the running back is seeking some more assurances about his future.

The former all-pro selection is skipping the Arizona Cardinals' mandatory minicamp as he seeks a contract extension, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Tuesday.

A wrist surgery sidelined Johnson for all but one game in 2017. The previous year, he led the league in yards from scrimmage with 2,118.

Johnson, 26, is set to make $1.88 million this season in the final year of his rookie contract.

Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones, Seattle Seahawks safety Earl Thomas and Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald are among the other notable players sitting out minicamp as they seek new deals.
