Here are five names you might not have seen as the Packers' first-round pick in mock drafts

By now, you probably have heard the names: Cooper DeJean, Amarius Mims, Tyler Guyton, Graham Barton.

With three days before the NFL draft, surely there must be some other names to follow before the Green Bay Packers make their pick at No. 25 of the first round Thursday night, right?

Here are a couple off the beaten path, plus one last look at Packers mock drafts around the internet — yes, many of which still love the aforementioned names.

First, the names you perhaps haven't yet considered:

Roger Rosengarten, offensive tackle, Washington

There's a twist here in that Chad Reuter of NFL.com forecasts a trade between the Packers and the San Francisco 49ers, one that includes an exchange of first-round picks, so this scenario gives the Packers the No. 31 pick.

Rosengartner was a second-team All American pick in 2023 after the Huskies advanced to the national championship game.

Reuter's draft goes a full seven rounds and he chooses Kentucky linebacker Tevin Wallace with the No. 41 pick for Green Bay in the second round.

Jordan Morgan, offensive line, Arizona

Morgan was showing up connected to the Packers in early mock drafts but seemed to have dipped out of the first round in most projections. Yet, Ryan Wilson of CBS Sports still sees a fit.

"Morgan was a left tackle only during his career at Arizona and he has the athleticism to play outside — but his arms also measured just under 33 inches, which could necessitate a move inside at the next level. Morgan does provide position flexibility now that the Packers have moved on from David Bakhtiari, with the potential to be a top-flight guard in the NFL."

Darius Robinson, defensive line, Missouri

Ian Cummings of Pro Football Network imagines a trade with the Buffalo Bills that gives Green Bay the No. 28 pick, with which they select Robinson. "At around 6’5″, 290 pounds, Robinson is a hybrid lineman in a similar mold to Denico Autry — who can play 5-tech on running downs and also rotate inside with his power," Cummings wrote.

Kingsley Suamataia, offensive lineman, BYU

Charles McDonald and Nate Tice of Yahoo! Sports have yet another offensive tackle to consider. "Green Bay needs a long-term solution at left tackle after the departure of David Bakhtiari," they wrote. "At this point in the draft, they’ll probably be taking an upside swing and Suamataia works in this scenario."

Byron Murphy II, defensive line, Texas

Though most drafts emphasize that the Packers will be looking for help on the offensive line or secondary, R.J. White of CBS Sports tries something else, with the Packers trading up to get a defensive lineman at No. 15.

"Murphy is the type of athletic freak the Packers love to draft, and GM Brian Gutekunst has a track record of prioritizing the defensive trenches in the draft," White wrote. "The Texas product will give them a true pass-rushing threat from the interior of the defense as they move to a one-gap scheme under new DC Jeff Hafley and bring the attack mentality he's focused on building around. The deal costs Green Bay No. 25 and 58 to move up."

Some usual suspects in these mock drafts

Tyler Guyton, offensive line, Oklahoma

From USA TODAY's Nate Davis: "Well, we know GM Brian Gutekunst won’t take a receiver at this spot. Guyton, a former tight end incidentally, would bring high-end potential and flexibility to a line that’s lost LT David Bakhtiari and G Jon Runyan Jr. Guyton played some left tackle for the Sooners but was mostly on the right side. That could provide options in Green Bay, where incumbent OT Zach Tom has also lined up on either end of the line."

Cooper DeJean, cornerback, Iowa

From Eric Edholm of NFL.com: "The Packers got an up-close look at what kind of impact Brian Branch had for the Lions in the NFC North, and I think DeJean can play a similar role for the 2024 Green Bay defense. He's capable of playing safety, nickel or outside corner, all three of which are positions of need for the Packers; DeJean also has special-teams value. I considered both lines of scrimmage here, but DeJean makes sense."

Graham Barton, offensive line, Duke

From ESPN's Jordan Reid: "One of the most impressive non-QB prospects that I saw out on the pro day circuit was Barton. He's an easy mover at 6-foot-5, 313 pounds. Barton spent last season at tackle, but he's projected to move inside at the next level, and he's my top-ranked center. Barton would be a gritty plug-and-play option for a Packers team that has had a lot of success drafting offensive linemen over the past decade."

Reid's mock draft also goes seven rounds and picks Edgerrin Cooper, a linebacker from Texas A&M, for the Packers in the second round.

Amarius Mims, offensive line, Georgia

From The Ringer's Ben Solak: "Great day in the office for GM Brian Gutekunst, who sees one of the highest ceiling players in the entire class fall into his lap — and at a position of need, no less! Mims may not start over Rasheed Walker on the left, but he can compete for it in camp, and he may not start over Zach Tom on the right, but Tom has great positional versatility, so he could bump inside to make room for Mims. Either way, Green Bay’s history of offensive line development is excellent news for the Georgia tackle."

Jackson Powers-Johnson, offensive line, Oregon

From Dane Brugler of The Athletic: "There are several ways the Packers can attack the offensive line in the draft. One of those is to select Powers-Johnson, who can provide an upgrade at center and allow Green Bay to keep Zach Tom at tackle while moving Josh Myers to guard."

Nate Wiggins, cornerback, Clemson

From Pro Football Focus: "The Packers get a lengthy, athletic outside cornerback to pair with Jaire Alexander in new defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley’s system," scout Jon Macri wrote. "Wiggins consistently improved his coverage ability in college, and his combination of size and speed gives the Packers an intimidating duo to challenge on the perimeter."

The seven-round draft also takes Javon Bullard, a safety from Georgia, for the Packers in the second round.
